Adi Tiwary

Writer-producer and strategic operator. Sydney.

Adi Tiwary

I am a Sydney-based writer-producer and strategic operator working across film, television, streaming, and screen-adjacent media.

My core strength sits at the intersection of narrative design and commercial strategy. I understand how stories work, and I understand how projects get positioned, packaged, sold, financed, licensed, and made legible to buyers, partners, and audiences. That combination is the foundation of how I work.

I am not a general creative, and I am not a conventional consultant. What makes me useful is dual fluency. I can think like a writer and development operator, and also like a strategist, packaging mind, and market reader. I am strongest where story, positioning, rights logic, audience behaviour, and commercial reality meet.

Career background

As Founding Partner at Stuart Entertainment, I worked across more than three thousand hours of content spanning scripted, unscripted, and factual projects. The work covered development, international sales, rights packaging, co-production thinking, and strategic positioning across APAC, Europe, and North America.

Clients, partners, and counterparties across that period included VICE Media Group, Guinness World Records, Leonine Studios, Voltage Pictures, Red Sea Media, Amazon MX Player, SBS Australia, and Flame Distribution.

Before Stuart Entertainment, my background ran through advertising copywriting, creative production support across film and television, training in Advertising and Marketing Communications at Sheridan College in Canada, co-founding a digital agency, and years of freelance marketing consulting. That earlier work sharpened my instincts around positioning, audience mechanics, and how ideas move in markets..

What I do now

Presently, as an independent writer-producer, my main focus is building original IPs that hold up creatively and commercially.

Alongside that, I take on selective advisory work on upstream strategic problems that decide whether a project moves: packaging, rights logic, buyer positioning, audience pathway, and brand-entertainment translation.

Lab Thoughts

Lab Thoughts is my practitioner intelligence publication for the screen industry. It follows scenes, deals, behaviours, platform moves, and industrial contradictions, then reads through to the business reality underneath. The geographic lens is APAC first, global second.

How I see the work

I am not interested in surface trend commentary. I care about what a move actually means underneath. I respect craft, but I do not romanticise it. I respect commercial logic, but I do not reduce everything to spreadsheets. I am most useful where creative instinct and commercial reality are being falsely treated as separate.

I value clarity over puffery, specificity over abstraction, operator usefulness over performance, and strong framing over excessive volume.
